This week in ISM I had two interviews in one day! They were both at the JCPenney Headquarters. The first one was with a woman named Ana Soto who is in charge of the online videos for the company. It was definitely interesting to hear about how she plans out and makes sure which video ad will go where, when, and for how long is executed properly. However, I learned she does not play as much of a role in the creative thinking side which I have figured out I want to be involved in. Immediately following this, I had an interview with Christina Steckel who is the creative content manager. I truly enjoyed learning about the projects she works on for the company such as putting together media posts for the biggest partnerships at certain times (such as working with Ayesha Curry to target the home appliances) or even traveling to shoot videos and take photos for the advertisements themselves. Both of these contacts were shared with me from asking a for recommended college to talk with on a previous interview. Just like that, I saw the wonderful benefit of networking in action. A few days before this interview I was finishing up my topic proposal on why I wanted to study corporate partnerships this year. But, some things may change!
